Our lab receives funding through the NWO Gravitation program

The Dutch Research Council (NWO) has awarded a Gravitation grant of ~20 Million euros to the BRAINSCAPES project. We are honored to be part of this ambitious project with Ahmed as a Young Talent Member.

BRAINSCAPES is a collaboration of scientists from VU, VUmc, Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN), LUMC, TU Delft, UMC Utrecht and Hubrecht Institute, led by Prof. Danielle Posthuma, professor of genetics at the VU. The aim of the project is to provide insight into the molecular and cellular background of complex brain disorders, and to use them to design new treatments. The researchers are doing this through new analytical and experimental tools to study the consequences of risk genes on the functioning of specific cells, their interconnections and functional output.
